2. Acceptance of the Terms
By using the MyBox app, the user accepts these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, you cannot use the service.
At registration, explicit acceptance of these Terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy are required.
3. Description of the Service
MyBox is an application for organising and cataloguing items inside homes, divided into floors, rooms and boxes. The service includes:
- Creating and managing household inventories
- Uploading identifying photos for items, houses, floors and rooms
- Uploading a profile photo
- Generating, saving and sharing QR codes for boxes
- Scanning QR codes using the device camera
- Global item search
- Sharing houses with other users with read-only or edit permissions
- Tracking items that are lent or taken away
- Offline mode with automatic synchronisation when the connection returns
- Optional app lock using biometrics or the device passcode
The service is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, with prior notice.
4. Eligibility
To use MyBox you must be at least 14 years old and have a valid email address and an internet connection for registration and data synchronisation.
5. User account
5.1 Registration
To use MyBox you must create an account by providing a valid email address and a password. A verification message is sent to the address provided.
5.2 Responsibilities
The user is responsible for:
- Keeping their credentials confidential
- All activity carried out through their account
- The accuracy of the information provided
The user must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of their account.
6. Permitted use
The user undertakes to:
- Use the app only for personal and lawful purposes
- Not upload illegal or offensive content, or content infringing third-party rights
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
- Not circumvent or tamper with the service's security mechanisms, including request integrity checks
- Not use automated tools to access the service or extract data from it in bulk
- Not use the app for commercial purposes without authorisation
7. Sharing houses
The user may invite other people to one of their houses by providing their email address and assigning a read-only or edit role.
By inviting someone, the user declares they are entitled to give us that person's email address and takes responsibility for the content they thereby make accessible. A share can be revoked at any time.
Anyone granted edit permission can create, modify and delete content within the shared house: the owner remains responsible for choosing who to invite.
8. User content
Content uploaded by the user, such as photos, names and notes, remains their property. Solely in order to operate the service, the user grants us the limited right to store it, process it and make it accessible to the users they have chosen to share it with. We do not use user content for any other purpose.
We reserve the right to remove manifestly unlawful content that comes to our attention.
9. Intellectual property
MyBox and all associated content, such as design, code and trademarks, are the property of 123studio.dev.
10. Offline mode and backups
The app allows you to work without a connection by keeping data on the device and synchronising it when the connection becomes available again. Synchronisation may fail, for example if the app is uninstalled before it completes or if the same content is modified by more than one user.
MyBox is not a backup service: we recommend keeping a separate copy of any information and photos you consider important.
11. Limitation of liability
MyBox is provided "as is". We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted availability of the service
- The absence of errors or malfunctions
- Absolute data security, although we take reasonable measures
We are not liable for any data loss caused by circumstances beyond our control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the mandatory rights granted to consumers by law.
12. Suspension of the service
We may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these Terms or of use that compromises the security or operation of the service. Except in cases of serious abuse or legal obligation, the user is notified of the suspension.
We also reserve the right to discontinue the service, giving reasonable advance notice so that the user can retrieve their data.
13. Account deletion
The user may delete their account at any time from the Account screen in the app. Deletion results in the permanent erasure of all associated data, as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Data protection and cookies
The processing of personal data is described in the MyBox Privacy Policy. The use of cookies and equivalent storage technologies is described in the Cookie Policy. Both documents can be consulted from the Account screen in the app.
15. Changes to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service. Changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of the service after the changes implies acceptance of the new terms; otherwise, the user may delete their account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Italian law.
For users acting as consumers, the mandatory jurisdiction of the place of residence or elected domicile of the consumer applies, as do any more favourable provisions of the law of their country of residence in the European Union. For users not acting as consumers, the courts of Rome have jurisdiction.
Consumers resident in the European Union may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
