1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar storage technologies are used by MyBox, both in the mobile application and in the web version accessible from a browser.
A cookie is a small text file saved by the browser. This document also covers the equivalent technologies used by apps, such as local storage and IndexedDB databases, because they serve similar purposes.
The data controller is 123studio.dev. For any request: privacy@123studio.dev
2. Summary
MyBox does not use profiling, advertising or analytics cookies, and does not share data with advertising networks.
Only technical technologies are used, necessary to run the app, keep the user signed in and protect the service from abuse.
3. Mobile application
The Android and iOS version of MyBox does not use cookies, as it does not include an internal browser for web navigation. It does, however, use technical storage on the device, which is essential to its operation:
- Firebase Authentication tokens, which keep the session active and avoid having to enter credentials at every launch
- An offline copy of the inventory data, which allows content to be viewed and edited without a connection
- An upload queue, which holds photos waiting to be sent when the connection becomes available again
- A cache of images already downloaded, to reduce data usage
- A cache mapping user identifiers to email addresses, used to display names in shares and loans
- App preferences, namely the selected language and whether the biometric lock is enabled
This data stays on the device. It is removed by signing out, clearing the app's data from the system settings, or uninstalling the app.
4. Web version
In the web version MyBox uses the following technologies.
4.1 Necessary technical storage
These are handled by the browser through local storage and IndexedDB and serve solely to operate the service:
- The Firebase Authentication session, which keeps the user signed in between visits and expires on sign-out
- The upload queue and the image and user caches, to reduce the number of requests to the server
- App preferences, namely the selected language
In the web version the offline copy of the database is not enabled: inventory data is read from the server in each session.
4.2 Third-party technical cookies for security
To verify that requests come from a real browser and not from an automated tool, MyBox uses Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA v3. This service, provided by Google, loads a script from google.com and sets its own technical cookies on Google's domain.
- Purpose: prevention of abuse, fraud and automated access
- Provider: Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC
- Duration: set by Google, typically up to six months
- Provider's notice: policies.google.com/privacy
reCAPTCHA runs in invisible mode, does not display challenges to solve, and is not used for advertising or profiling purposes.
4.3 Landing page
The MyBox landing site consists of static pages and sets no cookies.
5. Consent
All the technologies described are strictly necessary to deliver the service requested by the user and to keep it secure. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the corresponding national implementations, no prior consent is required for this category, and therefore no consent banner is shown.
If we introduce analytics or profiling cookies in the future, we will ask for prior consent through a dedicated banner and update this document.
6. How to manage and delete this data
- In the browser: from the privacy and security settings you can delete cookies, local storage and IndexedDB for the MyBox domain. Doing so signs you out of your account and clears local preferences.
- In the mobile app: by signing out, clearing the app's data from the device settings, or uninstalling the app.
Blocking technical storage or security cookies prevents authentication from working and therefore prevents use of the service.
7. Changes
We reserve the right to update this Cookie Policy. The date at the top of the document indicates the latest update, and material changes will be communicated through the app.
